It goes down and you tell yourself, it will go backup. It might, but the fact is that it could a long old time before it ever does. It is poor finances to have money in the market for months to years that doesn't earn you a return. This is why it is so important to cut your losses. You get some of your money back and you can reinvest it in a profitable trade. I found the best way of doing this is deciding a stop loss point before you trade. Basically, if the trade goes down to "X" point, than you just sell it, no matter what.

I think having software can really help you avoid the learning curve and start to make profits very fast. There are some great tools out there and I suggest you get one.
