Facts About The Forex Trade By Nick1978 The forex trade involves the buying and selling of currencies or the trading in currencies by banks, financial institutions, portfolio managers, big corporations, retail investors and brokers etc. Most transactions in the forex market take place by the buying and selling of currency pairs. The fluctuation in the exchange rates of a currency is directly proportional to the strength of the country’s economy. The forex trade survives on these fluctuating rates of exchange and the difference in values it creates sport ween different pairs of currencies. The need for the existence of such a market stemmed from the presence of various currencies in vogue in the international trade like the pound sterling, euro, American dollar etc and the demand for these currencies.
The person who invests money to purchase currencies which he intends to sell and thereby make a profit is called a retail trader. Retail traders usually operate through brokers who facilitate the purchase and transactions once an order is placed with them by the trader and upon instruction closes the position and credits the resulting profit or gain into the traders account. The commission is usually charged as a percentage of the investment
or profit. The forex trading market is huge and the turn over volumes amount to trillions of dollars each day.

bussines?
The forex trading is unique from the stock market in that there is no central regulatory agency or exchange in place and trading takes place around the clock except on weekends. Trading takes place around the globe and one can find hundreds of brokerage agencies operating from each country at any time. The forex market is also distinguished by its liquidity and the fact the profits generated depend mainly on the volume of trading as the profit margin is far less when compared to the stock market.
Practices like leverage that allow for small investors to trade in huge volumes without having sufficient capital and short selling practices also ensure that the forex market remains a unique area of trading. Speculative trading in the forex market is considered akin to gambling and sometimes could be detrimental to the strength of countries currency as it generates profit for the speculators but does nothing in terms of capital generation and is in anyway advantageous to a country’s economy.
