The lure of trading in the forex market can be attributed to the huge wealth gaining potential it offers that overshadows the fact that there is also a huge wealth losing potential to the market. There are people who make money solely by exploiting newbie forex investors ignorant of the pitfalls of the market and attracted to the lure of huge wealth are ready to invest in software that promise quick wealth or brokers who fill their head with dreams of becoming a billionaire.
The major disadvantages of the forex trading market when compared to the stocks and shares’ trading is that there is no central agency that governs and controls the activities that go on in the market. There is also no central exchange, which makes it difficult to set up such an agency in the first place owing to the ambiguity in the functioning of the market. The trading takes place around the clock and markets remain open in one country or the other at any time. The fact that there is no governing agency or statutory authority that controls the affairs of the market, invites the possibility
of unfair treatment of the ignorant by the knowledgeable, since there are no legal remedies that a person who has been cheated can take recourse to.
Some brokers make a living by skimming off the top from client profits in addition to getting their commission percentage. A new investor who is lured by the overwhelming allure of wealth that is to be had in this business would be advised not to trust anybody without sound credentials. Approaching a seasoned broker with a good reputation when you start off would be the ideal thing to do. Another thing to watch out for is shady websites and software that promise instant wealth and even offer to train you in ways to get there. Most of these software and websites are a sham. New investors should also try to gain as much insight as they can into the whole business and study its pros and cons in detail before setting out to invest. They should be aware of the possible scams that can be perpetrated and the grey areas that should be avoided.
